May Anton, from Virginia Beach, Virginia, elaborates on craft recovery procedures with U.S. Congressional staff members during a ship tour aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) as part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan’s Kakehashi Project. The program is designed to promote a better understanding of Japan with regard to politics, economics, culture, history and foreign policy. Green Bay, part of the Commander, Amphibious Squadron 11, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
