Wayne Blanks, a mechanical engineering intern in APSL’s chemical/biological standards laboratory, calibrates an explosive gas detector in the current, extremely crowded chemical/biological standards calibration area. Technicians will move into their newly renovated calibration area once phase 1a is complete. The new calibration area is three times larger than their current space and includes a “clean room” for some of their most sensitive detector calibrations.
