Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment Officer Lt. Douglas Kay wears a clown suit while launching an E-2C Hawkeye as pilots and aircraft assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17 depart the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and return to their home bases after nearly six months embarked.
