MAURA, Brunei (Oct. 22, 2019) U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Joey Tynch, commander Logistics Group Western Pacific, and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Brig. Gen. Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, RBAF joint force commander, address questions from local media along with Matthew Matthews, the U.S. Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, during a media availability event in support of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Brunei. This year marks the 25th iteration of CARAT, a multinational exercise designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies' abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
