ANGAUR, Republic of Palau — U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Gennadiy Birman, a corpsman with Exercise Koa Moana, gives a child a vaccine at the Angaur Community Center, Sept. 27, 2019. The Ministry of Health stands up a remote medical clinic monthly on the island of Angaur, as the island does not have constant medical care available. Birman was the first U.S. Navy corpsman to volunteer to help the Ministry of Health with their clinic on Angaur. Koa Moana is an exercise that builds to enhance relationships with partner nations and maintain an effective U.S. force in readiness by participating in multilateral exercises and events.
