A Barksdale airman dons his gas mask during the Ability to Survive and Operate exercise on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., May 11. When donning a gas mask, airmen must perform certain checks to make sure it fits properly. Some of the checks include adjusting the straps and performing a seal test to ensure there are no leaks.
