Oklahoma Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Curtis Getz, a medical technician assigned to the 137th Special Operations Medical Group (137th SOMDG) out of Will Rogers Air National Guard Base in Oklahoma City, ducks under the roaring blades of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter to receive a simulated patient from a member of the helicopter's aircrew during Northern Strike 19 at Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center in Alpena, Mich., July 31, 2019. Along with Michigan and Minnesota Air National Guard medical personnel, 137th SOMDG Airmen worked in the En Route Patient Staging System - 10 (ERPSS-10), which is an active duty-funded personnel package that acts as a sort of hold-over near the flight line for patients awaiting evacuation to a higher level of care and is made up of 13 personnel who are equipped to care for 10 patients for two to six hours, 40 patients a day, for seven days before needing a resupply.
