Vallejo, Calif. resident Spc. Jonathan Serbellon stands with Brig. Gen. Kevin Leonard after receiving his combat infantryman's badge at Camp Virginia, Kuwait, Sept. 6. Serbellon, assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 160th Infantry Regiment, was awarded the CIB for his actions on July 2. While stopped to investigate a possible improvised explosive device (IED) near Forward Operating Base Scania in Iraq, Serbellon's gun truck came under small arms fire from an unknown number of personnel. Serbellon returned fire and was able to repel any further attacks by the forces.
