Cpl. Aurelio Salinas, a supply warehouse clerk with Headquarters and Service Company, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, digs a fighting position during a training event here, May 6. Salinas, a 25-year-old native of Pasadena, Calif., recently participated in the Desert Fire Exercise, which trained the battalion to establish a forward operating base and secure the command operations center, a mission essential task for the division in a deployed environment.
