Brig. Gen. Troy D. Galloway, the Deputy Commanding General of the First U.S. Army, holds up the M-16 bayonet he received as a thank-you gift from Maj. Gen. Michael Zerbonia, the Assistant Adjutant General - Army of the Illinois National Guard and Commander of the Illinois Army National Guard. Galloway told Illinois Army National Guard leaders that tough realistic training will ensure victory in a war with near-peer enemy. Galloway spoke to the ILARNG leaders on Sept. 23 as part of the Illinois Army National Guard's Commanders Guidance Conference in East Peoria, Illinois.
