ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 20, 2019) Machinist Mate 3rd Class Christopher Carlson takes readings from a reverse osmosis distilling plant in the Auxiliary 1 space aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) as part of the duties of auxiliary remote operator Sept. 20, 2019. Normandy is operating in the Atlantic in support of naval operations to maintain maritime stability and security in order to ensure access, deter aggression and defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
