Airmen from Travis Air Force Base and soldiers from the 661st Engineer Company, Illinois National Guard, assigned to the 7th Engineer Battalion, work on building an earth bridge over a wadi, April 7, to recover a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III airlifter that overshot the runway here on Forward Operating Base Shank. The C-17 was located on the other side of a wadi and a bridge had to be created to get the airlifter back on the runway.
