ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 17, 2019) The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) fires its forward five-inch gun mount from the fo’c’sle during a Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) exercise with other U.S. Navy warships. Surface Warships assigned to the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group are participating in the exercise in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Florida, to maintain readiness, proficiency and lethality.
