U.S. Air Force Col. Krystal Murphy, deputy command surgeon, AFRICOM, greets approximately 35 health professionals from various U.S. agencies during the opening remarks of the Infectious Disease Strategic Planning Workshop, on Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany, Sept. 4, 2019. Representatives from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of State and combat support agency, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency were in attendance to describe the work they do in Africa and collaborate with AFRICOM and each other to fight the spread of infectious disease. The workshop will better enable U.S. AFIRCOM to operationalize the U.S. AFRICOM Theater Campaign Plan by modifying their Security Force Assistance strategy. (U.S. Air Force photo by Maj.
