Shell casings are ejected between firing volleys by members of the honor guard during the U.S. Army Garrison Alaska, Fort Wainwright 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. Col. Christopher Ruga, USAG Alaska’s garrison commander, and the garrison hosted Soldiers, Family members, Civilians and anyone with post access to the ceremony to mark the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the U.S. In attendance included the Chief of Staff of the Army, Gen. James McConnville, the U.S. Army Alaska Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Peter Andrysiak, and local leaders from the Fairbanks North Star Bureau.
