U.S. Army Sgt. Jan Lopez, a crew chief on a UH-60 ‘Blackhawk’ with U.S. Army Aviation Battalion, Japan, stationed out of Camp Zama, Japan, and a native of Kissimmee, Florida, guides the Blackhawk onto the deck of the AS-403 ‘JS Chiahaya’ in the waters off of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Sept. 9, 2019. The deck landing increases the proficiency between USAABJ and JMSDF by preparing both services with capabilities during humanitarian assistance and disaster relief events.
