Japan Maritime Self-Defense Forces sailor on the AS-403 ‘JS Chiahaya’ guides a U.S. Army UH-60 ‘Blackhawk’ onto the flight pad while another JMSDF sailor hold him for stability, in the waters off of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Sept. 9, 2019. The deck landing increases the proficiency between U.S. Army Aviation Battalion Japan and JMSDF by preparing both services with capabilities during humanitarian assistance and disaster relief events.
