Team Navy and Coast Guard, first-time warrior athlete, Gunner's Mate 1st Class Jeannette Tarqueno crossed the finish line placing 4th in the women's two-wheel open category during the 2012 Warrior Games at U.S. Air Force Academy, May 1, 2012. Tarqueno, showed a tremendous amount of spirit in her first Warrior Games competition while still recovering from a Traumatic Brain Injury suffered four months while deployed aboard the USS Port Royal in the Persian Gulf. The 35 warrior athletes are participating as Team Navy/Coast Guard, sponsored by Navy Safe Harbor, the Navy and Coast Guard's wounded warrior support program, a key component of the Department of the Navy's 21st Century Sailor and Marine initiative.
