Scott Robertson, commander, Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC), right, and Colvert Burgos, SMWDC’s Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) Program Manager during a tour of SMWDC’s Exercise Control Center (ECC) onboard Naval Base San Diego. ECC is designed to operate as a central location with the primary purpose of controlling, instructing and critiquing SWATT exercises. As a subordinate of Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, SMWDC’s exists to increase the lethality and tactical proficiency of the surface force across all domains.
