SAN DIEGO (Aug. 14, 2019) Adm. Christopher W. Grady, commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, center, speaks with Sailors at the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense Anti-Submarine Warfare Trainer (CIAT) onboard Naval Base San Diego. The Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) opened two CIATs in San Diego and Norfolk, Virginia, in December 2018 and June 2019, respectively. The Surface Force is using CIAT to continue to build on the culture of excellence in an environment where ship crews can realistically recreate the high-end tactical training needed to build lethality, warfighting, and tactical proficiency. CSCS's mission is to develop and deliver surface ship combat systems training to the fleet and achieve surface warfare superiority. U.S. Navy photo by Trevor Welsh. (Released)
