A U.S. Navy servicemember named Wagner is crouching down and working with a Biogents BG-Sentinel 2 mosquito monitoring trap placed against a blue and white wall. The sailor is wearing Navy Working Uniform (NWU) Type III digital camouflage and appears to be either setting up or collecting samples from the mosquito surveillance device. This activity is consistent with military preventive medicine or entomological surveillance operations.

190809-N-MU198-1051 COLON, Panama (Aug. 9, 2019) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Nathan Wagner, from Weedsburg, Wisc., assigned to the hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) captures mosquitos for testing and surveillance at a temporary medical site. Comfort is working with health and government partners in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean to provide care on the ship and at land-based medical sites, helping to relieve pressure on national medical systems strained by an increase in Venezuelan migrants.
