U.S. Marine Capt. Austin Sullivan and Sgt. Andrew Lepley with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command discuss team maneuver operations during Jungle Warfare training aboard Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, July 22, 2019. Jungle warfare training is conducted to condition service members to thrive in tropic environments and gives them the opportunity to prepare for arduous jungle warfare scenarios. The Marines and sailors of SPMAGTF-SC are working and training with partner nation militaries giving U.S. forces the opportunity to refine processes and procedures, increase proficiency, and enhance the ability to respond to contingencies across the region. The task force is conducting training and engineering projects alongside partner nation military forces in Central and South America. The unit is also on standby to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the event of a hurricane or other emergencies in the region. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Dante J. Fries)
