An aerial photograph shows two naval vessels sailing in formation on open ocean, accompanied by two military helicopters in flight. The left vessel is a large white hospital ship marked with prominent red crosses, consistent with Geneva Convention-protected medical vessels. The right vessel appears to be a gray military support or patrol ship flying what appears to be a Canadian flag.

190716-N-IA905-1439 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 16, 2019) The hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), an MH-60S Seahawk assigned to the “Dragon Whales” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 28, the Peruvian ship BAP Tacna (ARL-158), and a Peruvian Bell 412 practice maneuvering techniques. Comfort is working with health and government partners in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean to provide care on the ship and at land-based medical sites, helping to relieve pressure on national medical systems strained by an increase in Venezuelan migrants.
