Fort Hood Warrior Transition Brigade soldier Sgt. Ophelia Preston, who is gradually relearning how to walk following a 2010 stroke, credits much of her recovery to her mother who is Preston’s source of encouragement. Soon to retire, the Waco homebound soldier uses the Waco VA Hospital and local community medical and physical therapy facilities for all her medical care. Under the umbrella of WTB F Company, soldiers like Preston learn how to confidently maneuver through the complexities of the VA system.
