190705-M-YD783-1179 ATLANTIC OCEAN (July 5, 2019) U.S. Naval Academy Midshipman 3rd Class Polly Finch climbs into an M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank in the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) on July 5, 2019. Midshipmen are currently aboard the Kearsarge to gain familiarity with and experience life at sea. The Kearsarge is nearing the end of a seven-month deployment during which it provided forward Naval and Marine presence and supported maritime security operations, crisis response and theater security cooperation.
