Lillian Polatchek, a tank commander with the 22nd MEU’s Weapon’s Company, speak to Naval Academy midshipmen about their experiences in the Marine Corps during in the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) on July 5, 2019. Midshipmen are currently aboard the Kearsarge to gain familiarity with and experience life at sea. The Kearsarge is nearing the end of a seven-month deployment during which it provided forward Naval and Marine presence and supported maritime security operations, crisis response and theater security cooperation.
