    The 257th Army Band, the band of the Nation's Capital, helps kick off the 2019 Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. July 4. The 257th is given the honor of leading the parade each year. In additional to the band, approximately 800 District of Columbia National Guardsmen supported local law enforcement, public safety and transit agencies during the annual event.
