    1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment

    1st Lt. Jacob Matthews, 1st Platoon Leader, Alpha Troop, 1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, briefs members of his unit on an upcoming mission at the Joint Readiness Training Center, March 22. 1-89th Cav. deployed to JRTC with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI), to assist in training hundreds of members of Security Force Assistance Teams. The SFATs will be deploying to Afghanistan to advise and assist Afghanistan's police and military to facilitate the transition of the country's security to them.
