Recruits with Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, prepare to perform Marine Corps Martial Arts Program techniques during a MCMAP training session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 24. One of the purposes of learning MCMAP is to teach recruits basic offensive and defensive techniques, and this gives them the opportunity to master the moves in preparation for the MCMAP test later in training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited form the Western Recruiting Region are trained aboard MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 6.
