    Indiana Army National Guardsman Sgt. 1st Class Joe Barr, Anderson, Ind., changes his socks at a stopping point along the 26.2-mile trek of the Bataan Memorial Death March held at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., March 25, 2012. Barr, a member of Troop C, 2nd Squadron, 152nd Cavalry's Long Range Surveillance, participated the event with members of his Long Range Surveillance unit. This year's memorial march marks the 23rd annual memorial for U.S. and Philippine service members who lost their lives in battle and at the hands of the Japanese in the death march on the Bataan peninsula in the Philippine Islands during World War II.
