Rear Adm. Paul Pearigen, Navy Medicine West (NMW) commander and chief of the Navy Medical Corps met with met Dr. Leah Blain, clinical psychologist, and Mr. Pete Freudenberger, licensed clinical social worker, at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia to discuss the work they do providing mental health services for veterans and military family members. Pearigen was in Philadelphia as part of a Navy Office of Community Outreach program that brings senior Navy leaders together with their civilian counterparts in local government, corporate, and civic organizations to increase awareness and understanding of the Navy’s mission.
