Staff Sgt. Christopher J. Reed of Alexandria, Minn., gives orders to his squad during cordon and search training held in Kuwait, Jan. 23, 2012. He and his Company (Company C, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 194th Armor) are staying in Kuwait for the remainder of their deployment following the end of the Iraq war. They arrived in July of 2011 and performed convoy escort security until every last American service member crossed over into Kuwait but now their mission is acting as an essential Quick Reaction Force for the region in the Middle East.
