Col. John E. Kasperski talks to Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members here March 5 during Exercise Forest Light 12-2. The purpose of Forest Light 12-2 is to enhance the interoperability of Marines and JGSDF members while increasing individual and unit readiness in a cold weather environment. Kasperski is the commanding officer for Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
