Marines observe as Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members demonstrate how to use a kerosene heater here March 4 during exercise Forest Light 12-2. The purpose of Forest Light 12-2 is to enhance the interoperability of Marines and JGSDF members while increasing individual and unit readiness in a cold weather environment. The Marines are from Combat Logistics Regiments 35 and 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The JGSDF service members are with 4th Infantry Regiment, 5th Brigade, JGSDF.
