Candidates of the Best Warrior Competition receive a demonstration on the following tasks: knot tying, requiring the candidates to tie a bowline, square knot and whip the end of a rope; and utilizing three pioneer poles, lashing the poles together to form a tripod and hang a Dutch oven from the center. These tasks were part of several mystery events the candidates were evaluated on, May 2, 2019, at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Grafenwoehr, Germany. The Best Warrior Competition is an individual competition that challenges the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity Bavaria's best junior officers, noncommissioned officers and soldiers in a demanding, continuous, and realistic simulated operational environment; encompassing various warfighter tasks.
