    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 9, 2019) – Hospitalman Margaret Sherwood, a laboratory technician at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, uses a microscope to analyze patient samples. Sherwood, a native of Galesburg, Illinois, says, “I joined the Navy because I always wanted to help people. Being a laboratory technician, I get that chance every day.” Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, April 21- 27, celebrates clinical laboratory professionals who play a vital role (as part of the health care team) in the diagnosis and prevention of disease.
