SAN DIEGO (April 18, 2019) Aviation Boatswains Mate (Handling) Airman Zachary Leens, from Coeur d’Alene Idaho, performs forward and reverse baton strikes after being sprayed with oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray, also known as pepper spray, during naval security force sentry (NSFS) training. Sailors assigned to amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) are required to participate in NSFS training prior to earning weapons qualifications.
