190417-N-CL765-1022 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 17, 2019) Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Taylor Hall, center, instructs Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class James Benear, left, and Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Joshua Olsen on removing pins from the bomb bay of a P-3C Orion aircraft, attached to Patrol Squadron (VP) 40. VP-40 is deployed to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security. VP-40 is the last active-duty squadron to fly the P-3C Orion aircraft and after this deployment will transition to the P-8 Poseidon.
