190417-N-CL765-1017 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 17, 2019) Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Taylor Hall, center, attached to Patrol Squadron (VP) 40, instructs Sailors in the rigging and adjustment of the P-3C Orion bomb bay doors. VP-40 is deployed to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security. VP-40 is the last active-duty squadron to fly the P-3C Orion aircraft and after this deployment will transition to the P-8 Poseidon.
