A U.S. Marine in MARPAT camouflage uniform is inspecting or maintaining what appears to be an aircraft ejection seat component or survival equipment pack. The equipment bears a prominent 'DANGER - DO NOT PULL HANDLE' warning label and orange safety pins/flags. The setting appears to be a military maintenance or supply facility.

Gunnery Sgt. David Freed, an aviation life support system division chief with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (All-Weather) 225 and a Boyers, Pa., native, inserts a WB15 catapult cartridge into an F/A-18 ejection seat aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Feb. 10. When a pilot pulls on the ejection handle in a seat, it sets off an explosive cartridge that ejects the seat from the aircraft.
