The 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team’s staff use an M1087 Expandable Van Shelter for their operations during a command post exercise March 21, 2019, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. The van’s design decreases setup and teardown time while increasing mobility of command posts so units can rapidly react to near-peer enemy threats. This is part of the Army’s modernization strategy to make Soldiers and units more lethal to win the nation’s wars. (U.S. Army photo by Maj. Casey Martin)
