AUSTIN, Texas – (March 29, 2019) Engineman 1st Class Yong Yo (center) of Tucson, Ariz., a special warfare scout assigned to Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, speaks with attendees about career opportunities in America’s Navy during the 92nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays held at the Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas. The meet, which ran from March 27-30, welcomed more than 7,000 athletes in the high school, collegiate and professional ranks. The recruiters and Warrior Challenge Mentor Program personnel from Navy Recruiting Districts Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston attended to spread Navy Awareness and to speak with athletes about pursuing a career in America’s Navy. Yo, a 2010 graduate of Sahuaro High School, joined the Navy in 2011. The Warrior Challenge Mentor Program is part of a large Navy recruiting effort to identify and develop unique people that are in high demand to serve as technical specialists and dependable teammates. Navy Recruiting Command (NRC) consists of a command headquarters, three Navy Recruiting Regions, 20 Navy Recruiting Districts and six Navy Talent Acquisition Groups that serve more than 1,300 recruiting stations across the world. Their combined goal is to attract the highest quality candidates to assure the ongoing success of America’s Navy.
