    ABOARD USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN-75) – (March 2000) Future Sailor Gabriel Gonzalez-Castro of San Juan, Puerto Rico, sits in the captain’s chair on the ship’s bridge. On March 27, 2019, Gonzalez-Castro took the oath of enlistment into the U.S. Navy at the San Antonio Military Entrance Processing Station. A 2017 graduate of Deltona High School in Deltona, Fla., he will become the fourth generation of the Gonzalez family to serve in the armed forces. His great grandfather served as an infantryman in the U.S. Army during WWII, his grandfather was an Army field artilleryman, and his father, Navy Counselor 1st Class Luis Gonzalez, the leading petty officer assigned to Navy Recruiting Station (NRS) Round Rock, enlisted into America’s Navy in 1997 as a damage controlman serving on USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN-75) and USS GETTYSBURG (CG-64). Gonzalez-Castro, who was recruited from NRS Georgetown, will serve in America’s Navy as an aircrewman. Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 30 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
