CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 16, 2019) Rear Adm. Stephen Evans, Commander, Carrier Strike Group 2, and native of Beaufort, S.C., joins Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and Medal of Honor Recipient United States Marine Corps Major Gen. James Livingston during Charleston's Saint Patrick's Day Parade. Livingston was nominated for the Medal for his actions at the battle of Dai Do during the Vietnam War.

Evans was in the greater Charleston area as part of Navy Week Charleston and had the opportunity to meet with several area business and government leaders. Navy Weeks serve as the U.S. Navy's principal outreach effort into areas of the country that lack a significant Navy presence, helping Americans understand that their Navy is deployed around the world, around the clock, ready to defend America at all times.
