Quartermaster 2nd Class Derek Baker explains the navigation system aboard the guided-missile frigate USS Simpson (FFG 56) to a group of shipriders from Benin, Cameroon, Gabon, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, and Togo who are integrated as part of the crew in support of Africa Partnership Station 2012. APS is an international security cooperation initiative, facilitated by Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, aimed at strengthening global maritime partnerships through training and collaborative activities in order to improve maritime safety and security in Africa.
