The students are part of the STARBASE site's rocketry team which is competing in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) competition with hopes of making it to the National Fly Offs in May. STARBASE Los Alamitos, which is located on the base, is one of two DoD STARBASE campuses facilitated by the California Military Department's Youth and Community Programs Task Force.
