ATSUGI, Japan (Mar. 15, 2019) – Naval Aircrewman (Operator) 3rd Class Jonathan Zyto, assigned to the “War Eagles” of Patrol Squadron (VP) 16, conducts flight operations aboard a P-8A Poseidon aircraft assigned to VP-16 during a trilateral anti-submarine warfare (ASW) exercise with the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy in the western Pacific. VP-16 is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet (C7F) area of operations conducting maritime patrol and reconnaissance operations in support of Commander, Task Force 72, C7F, and U.S. Pacific Command objectives throughout the Indo-Asia Pacific region.
