Maj. Gen. Kevin M. Iiams, the commanding general of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), conducts flight checks of his aircraft prior to takeoff from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., March 8. The commanding general took the opportunity to ‘lead from the front’ by being one of the first aircrafts to takeoff with the Red Devils who are in the Unit Deployment Program rotation and are preparing to depart for MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
