U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Michael Kerby uses a portable instrument landing system/VHF omnidirectional range receiver to take readings from runway antennas Jan. 26, 2012, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. The receiver ensures antennas are giving proper signal patterns which enable aircraft to land during inclement weather. Kerby is an airfield systems technician assigned to the 354th Communications Squadron.
