A large amphibious assault ship is underway at sea under overcast, hazy conditions. The vessel has a flat flight deck loaded with multiple aircraft, including what appear to be fixed-wing jets and rotary-wing aircraft. The ship's island superstructure is visible on the starboard side with multiple radar and communication masts.

The wasp class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) sails in the Gulf of Oman. Mail and supplies were delivered from the Kearsarge to the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry (LSD-43) as a part of a vertical replenishment-at-sea. Marines and Sailors with the 22nd MEU and Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group are currently deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
